In 2001, Roger founded the sales and marketing representation company, Alliance Hotels Consultants Ltd., with offices operating in London, Edinburgh and Frankfurt. In 2011, Roger bought the empty and derelict Glencoe hospital building that would soon to become Glencoe House. Roger led a skilled team to develop the empty building into a five-star, 14-suite hotel in the Highlands of Scotland; together bringing a new, innovative perspective to the luxury Scottish hotel market by creating innovative guest experiences with unprecedented suites and introducing a unique dining experience. Roger’s key responsibilities included the strategic management of the business, sales and marketing, revenue and brand management as well as guiding all operational aspects of the business. Within 8 years, Glencoe House was able to achieve exceptional profitability with average daily suite (ADR) rates of £538 with two-bedrooms suites selling for as much as £775 per night on a bed and breakfast basis excluding dinner (figures from 2019). Success of the business is also demonstrated by the invitation to join the exclusive Luxury Scotland marketing group, and Romantik Hotels & Restaurants International, which feature over 550 independent exclusive hotels throughout Europe and 120 hotels in Asia. The company Roger founded - Alliance Hotels Consultants Ltd - which owned and operated Glencoe House between 2011-2019, was successfully sold to Perle Hotels Ltd. in September 2019. Working as Alliance Hotels Consultants Ltd, Roger and his team purchased the business of “Your Hotels Worldwide UK” to offer independent hotels in the UK affordable and successful e-commerce solutions. These ranged from providing Global Distribution Systems (GDS) representation to online sales & marketing services to growing Online Travel Agents (OTA) production.
